Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH) is a national university hospital on Daehak-ro in Jongno-gu, central Seoul, and the teaching hospital of Seoul National University College of Medicine. It traces its origins to Jejung Hospital, set up by the Joseon government in April 1885, and to Daehan Hospital, established in 1907, whose clock-tower building still stands on the campus. The hospital was incorporated under its present name in 1978. The Yeongeon-dong campus comprises the Main Hospital, Children's Hospital and Cancer Hospital, with 1,635 inpatient beds and 1,559 doctors as of 31 December 2025.
The Department of Dermatology is staffed by faculty, clinical fellows, residents and nurses, and its outpatient clinic is on basement level 3 of the Daehan Outpatient Center. The department runs clinics for atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, contact dermatitis, acne and other sebaceous gland diseases, hair and nail diseases, vitiligo and pigmentary disorders, scars, bullous and connective tissue diseases and skin cancer, alongside laser and dermatologic surgery clinics. Skin cancer and skin reactions to cancer drugs are also managed through the Skin Cancer / Chemotherapy Skin Care Center at the SNUH Cancer Hospital. The department carries out clinical and translational research with the SNUH Biomedical Research Institute and the college's Institute of Human-Environment Interface Biology, and trains medical students and dermatologists. Prof. Kwon Ohsang, a hair and scalp disease specialist, heads the department for the 2026–2028 term.
Patients without Korean National Health Insurance are served by the International Healthcare Center (IHC), founded on 1 June 1999 and located on the 2nd floor of the Main Hospital building. The IHC helps with appointments, payments, examinations and prescriptions. It offers interpretation in English, Chinese, Mongolian, Russian and Arabic, a 24-hour emergency contact line and cashless billing coordinated with international insurers. The hospital is reached from Exit 3 of Hyehwa Station on Seoul Subway Line 4.
