Bumrungrad International Hospital is a private multi-specialty hospital on Sukhumvit Soi 3 in the Watthana district of central Bangkok. It opened as a 200-bed facility on 17 September 1980, was listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand in 1989 and moved into its current 12-storey, 580-bed main building on 1 January 1997. A 21-storey outpatient clinic building, Building A, followed in 2008. The hospital's factsheet lists 272 examination suites, 40 operating theatres, a licensed medical heliport, capacity for about 5,500 outpatients a day and more than 1,500 physicians and dentists.
The Plastic (Cosmetic) Surgery Center is at Counter A on the 16th floor of Building A. It covers cosmetic and reconstructive surgery and hair transplantation, and its procedure list includes augmentation and reduction rhinoplasty alongside chin augmentation, facial implants, facial bone and maxillofacial reconstruction, and eyelid, ear, face-lift and forehead-lift surgery. The centre's page lists 22 plastic surgeons, several of whom name rhinoplasty, open rhinoplasty, alarplasty or nasal reconstruction among their clinical interests. Consultations are by appointment, from 8.30 to 20.00 on weekdays and from 8.00 to 17.00 at weekends.
The hospital reports treating more than 1.1 million patients a year, over 620,000 of them international patients from more than 190 countries. A complimentary Medical Coordination Office on the 10th floor of Building A, staffed by coordination physicians and nurses, assesses medical records before travel, arranges appointments and telemedicine consultations, and liaises with insurers and embassies. The hospital also staffs a desk in the arrivals hall at Suvarnabhumi Airport, runs a visa-extension service through its Business Center and lists more than 130 interpreters.
Bumrungrad has held Joint Commission International hospital accreditation since 2002, with re-accreditation every three years, most recently in 2023. It has also held Global Healthcare Accreditation since 2017.
