OTA & Jinemed Hospital is a private general hospital in the Muradiye neighbourhood of Beşiktaş, Istanbul, on Deryadil Sokağı off Nüzhetiye Caddesi. The hospital states that it has been located in central Istanbul since 1993. Alongside its Infertility & IVF department, its website lists 21 medical departments, among them gynecology and obstetrics, urology, anesthesia and reanimation, intensive care, radiology and biochemistry, together with emergency, laboratory, imaging and surgery services. Its international patient arm, OTA & Jinemed International, describes the hospital's approach as "Evidence-Based Medicine".
The hospital's IVF page describes treatment as team work by a gynecologist, an andrologist (urologist), an embryologist, nurses and auxiliary staff. After a preliminary interview and tests such as AMH, hormone stimulation runs for about 8–14 days, with follow-up by ultrasound and blood hormone levels. Egg collection (OPU) takes about 10 minutes and is done under anaesthesia. Eggs are fertilised by classical IVF or microinjection, embryos are kept in incubators and can be followed with embryoscope time-lapse monitoring, and embryo transfer is done between days 2 and 6 after egg collection. A Beta-hCG pregnancy test is recommended on day 12 in fresh cycles and day 15 in frozen cycles.
The IVF team includes Prof. Dr. Teksen Çamlıbel, whose hospital profile records that he opened Jinemed's Nişantaşı centre in 1989 and FulyaJinemed Hospital, now OTA & Jinemed, in 2005, and Prof. Dr. Meriç Karacan, who supervised the Jinemed Group IVF unit from 2003 to 2013. Prof. Dr. Teksen Çamlıbel graduated from Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine and trained in obstetrics and gynecology at Johns Hopkins Hospital and the Medical College of Ohio, followed by gynecologic oncology at Albany Medical College in New York, where he then joined the faculty. His hospital profile records that he founded the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Marmara University in 1985, set up an IVF centre at International Hospital in 1989 and opened Jinemed's Nişantaşı centre the same year. He opened the Kalamış Medical and IVF Center in 2000 and FulyaJinemed Hospital, now OTA & Jinemed, in 2005.
